Turkey 2024

Explore Turkey’s Culture, History and Startup Scene 

Join University of Denver students and faculty on a 7-day trip to Turkey! We’ll be spending a full week in Istanbul and Izmir, getting an up-close look at: 

  • The rich culture and history through tours of amazing historical sites 
  • The local entrepreneurial, innovation and startup community  
  • University life by visiting a campus in Istanbul  
  • The local cuisine by exploring restaurants, markets and bazaars. 

This hands-on cultural immersion will let you experience the best of Turkey. Walk through ancient ruins, sample delicious Turkish dishes, and network with innovators, founders and entrepreneurs.

Prerequisites and enrollment Details

  

Course Prerequisite: To be eligible to take this course, students must have previously completed EVM 2200 Global Entrepreneurship, or they must be enrolled to take it in fall 2024.  

Students will register for EVM 2200 during spring 2024 class registration.

  • EVM 2200 Fall 2024  
  • Monday/Wednesday 2:00 p.m.–3:50 p.m. 
  • 4 credits

Details:

  • Open to all University of Denver undergraduate students who meet the course prerequisite.  
  • Dates: December 1–8 
  • 15 spots available  
  • Registration deadline: September 10
  • 150 words on why you want to travel to Turkey, why you want to participate in this course, and what you hope to get out of this trip.
  • This is a 2-credit interterm course, and the credits can be used towards the EVM minor.

Faculty

Costs:  

  • Students’ in-country travel is covered by DU (hotel, transportation, site visits) 
  • Students are responsible for airfare, meals and incidentals
