With over 190,000 square feet on the University of Denver campus, Daniels College of Business upholds our vision to be a premier private business college globally recognized as a leader whose educational experience, outreach and knowledge creation transform lives, organizations and communities.
Our three buildings, Daniels, Joy Burns Center and Margery Reed Hall, offer state-of-the-art venues for student achievement. Each building caters to all students, faculty and staff and allows Daniels to offer the flexibility to schedule a variety of classes at peak times. This allows Daniels to move our students through their programs on schedule and with the low student to faculty ratio we promise to provide.
The Daniels Building is the heart of the College, housing state-of-the-art teaching and conference facilities, student and faculty common areas, dining and more.
- In 1994, the College was officially named for cable television pioneer Bill Daniels.
- The cartouche on the south entrance is the University Seal designed by Frank L. Phillips, DU art instructor, under the direction of Anne Evans, daughter of DU founder John Evans.
- Figures of a bull and a bear adorn the west side of the building.

In addition to housing the Knoebel School of Hospitality Management and the Daniels Executive Education program, the building hosts conferences and events for the public. The building serves as a learning laboratory where students get hands-on experience in a 2,800-square-foot production kitchen, a renowned beverage management center fashioned after a Tuscan wine cellar, a front desk operations center, 170-person dining hall and more.
- For culinary purposes, a herb and vegetable garden is located on its premises.
- Sculpted pineapples, the symbol of hospitality, appear on the building’s pediment over both entrances.
- The building was named the Joy Burns Center in April 2011 to honor the former chair of the DU Board of Trustees.

Margery Reed Hall serves as home to the Daniels Undergraduate Career Center, Undergraduate Programs, Strategic Issues Program, Institute for Enterprise Ethics, Office of Entrepreneurship and Project X-ITE.
- The renovation was completed on Margery Reed Hall in March 2014 providing additional classrooms, meeting rooms and office spaces for the Daniels College of Business.
- The Reiman Theater contains a Shakespearean mural painted by famed modernist painter John Edward Thompson, DU art professor in the 1930s and ’40s.
- The building was named for Margery Reed, daughter of Verner and Mary Reed, who graduated from DU with a bachelor’s degree in English in 1919.
- The renovation of Margery Reed Hall was completed in March 2014 and DU is actively pursuing LEED Silver certification from the United States Green Building Council, which was created by industry leaders to promote buildings that are environmentally responsible, profitable and healthy places to live, work and learn. The Council’s certification process—LEED—incorporates many aspects of a building’s lifecycle, including site sustainability, water efficiency, energy use, materials and resources and indoor air quality. To become LEED certified, buildings must earn credits in each aforementioned category.
