Why have you decided to pursue a PhD?
I decided to pursue the Executive PhD at Daniels to bridge the gap between practice and theory in real estate and housing policy. As an instructor at Colorado State University and a practicing broker, I regularly encounter questions that existing frameworks don't fully answer—how valuation models respond to neighborhood change, how gaps in market information shape buyer and developer behavior, and why well-intentioned housing policies often produce unintended outcomes. Daniels' blended format allows me to stay active in both teaching and practice while building the research skills needed to study these dynamics rigorously. My goal is to generate research that informs better, evidence-based decisions in housing and community policy, and to bring that knowledge back into the classroom and my professional work.

Why did you choose to get your PhD from the Daniels College of Business?
I chose Daniels College of Business for my PhD because its Executive format is built for professionals who want to stay active in their field while pursuing serious academic training. The program's quarterly immersions and blended structure let me continue teaching at Colorado State University and running my brokerage practice without stepping away from either, while still gaining the methodological grounding I need to conduct original research. Daniels' emphasis on producing theory-building scholarship, paired with the flexibility to shape a dissertation around my own area of interest, fits how I want to grow as a researcher. Just as important, the program connects me with faculty and peers who bring real-world business experience into the classroom, creating a community where practice and scholarship inform each other rather than existing separately.
