Industry Connection and Networking Opportunities
Each quarter there are opportunities to connect with alumni and industry partners for networking and career planning.
- NAIOP Careers in Real Estate Night—Burns partners with NAIOP to bring a panel of industry leaders to showcase various career paths in Commercial real estate.
- Taste of the Industry—Alumni and industry partners come host tables for a lively, speed-networking event designed to make connections for careers and school projects.
- Burns Career EXPO—Twenty industry partners who are actively hiring are invited to showcase their company to our students and alumni in a timed speed-interview format. 2023 was our inaugural year, and the EXPO’s success has made this an annual early spring event.
Burns School Speaker Series
We invite engaging speakers to campus to share their successes, career paths and stories and engage with our Burns community.
- Burns Leadership Series–Industry leaders with a national appeal join our director on stage to share their journey to success and lessons along the way.
Our most recent speaker was Douglas Duncan, VP of Fannie Mae. - Executive Real Estate Roundtable–Local developers present their latest project to the Burns community of industry partners, alumni and students. We begin with networking and a breakfast buffet, followed by the presentation and a Q&A.
RECM Student Club
Our RECM Student Club is very active in engaging alumni and industry partners. They hold Lunch & Learns quarterly to allow students to learn about a range of different career paths f. They also host social events such as golf outings and social hours.
