Student Experience

We walk the talk, and so will you

Through the Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative, Daniels provides workshops, programs and competitions that challenge students to tackle real-world problems, discuss ethical dilemmas with business leaders and develop leadership skills grounded in ethical leadership.

Ethics Boot Camp

An intense program for undergraduates, the Ethics Boot Camp provides students a lifelong framework for ethical decision making through engaging sessions, role playing and volunteer opportunities to put principles into action.

The Daniels Fund Ethics Consortium Case Competition

Begun in 2011, this competition challenges a group of six students to address a business ethics case and work collectively to create a response that demonstrates their understanding of a principle-based decision.  It also allows the students to apply skills, creativity and the ability to think on their feet in a competitive environment.

The Garrett Award

The Gairald H. and Berenice L. Garrett Ethics in Business Award is given by the Department of Business Ethics & Legal Studies at the Spring Daniels Honors Convocation and is presented to the student or team of students for the most outstanding paper on ethics written by a graduate student(s) during the preceding academic year.

Ms. Helen Garrett has endowed a fund in memory of her parents sufficient to support an annual award of $1,000.00 to the graduate student or team of students writing the best paper on (or relating to) the topic of business ethics, corporate responsibility or sustainability.

The winner of the Garrett Award for 2020-2021 was Haley Kultgen Martinez. Her essay described her service learning work with Denver Community Fridge.
