Graduate Certificates in Marketing
We offer two in-person marketing certificates and one online certificate. All three provide a deep dive into critical marketing skills without the commitment of a full master’s degree. Day and evening courses are available, and certificates can be completed in as little as 6 months.
All certificates have the same application process and per-hour tuition rate. Completed applicable coursework can be applied toward a master’s degree.
Certificates in Digital Marketing
Our Digital Marketing Certificates will arm you with essential creative, research and communication knowledge you can start using immediately in your career. These are the skills you need to thrive in the fast-moving fields of advertising, content creation, technology and marketing strategy. There are no required prerequisites, so you can apply now and start next quarter.
We offer two certificate options.
Specialized Graduate Certificate (4 courses, 16 credit hours)
With this specialized graduate certificate, you will understand how ever-changing digital technology impacts the practice and strategies of marketing activities. You’ll develop core digital marketing skills such as search engine optimization (SEO), social media marketing, pay-per-click advertising (PPC), and data collection and analytics. You’ll learn all this through hands-on, real-world projects that will keep you competitive in the marketplace.
You’ll choose four of the following courses and take them at your own pace:

Graduate Certificate (6 courses, 24 credit hours)
The graduate certificate builds on the core digital marketing knowledge developed in the specialized certificate, growing your skills in mobile-specific applications, search and advertising, and location-based services that are critical for today’s marketers. You’ll also work toward certification in essential tools of the trade: Google Analytics and Google AdWords.
You’ll take two required courses:

- MKTG 4835 Search Engine Marketing: Google Analytics & Google Ads
You’ll also chose four additional courses from this list:

Certificates in Marketing Analytics
In today’s data-driven business, marketing analytics provide you with the skills you need to measure and, most importantly, analyze the effectiveness of your marketing efforts so you can calculate your return on investment and make better decisions. A collaborative offering between the Departments of Marketing and Business Information and Analytics at Daniels, this certificate provides foundational knowledge in both disciplines.
Specialized Graduate Certificate (4 courses, 16 credit hours)
The specialized certificate provides measurement, analysis and decision-making skills that are essential for marketing professionals. You’ll understand the importance of data analytics in business and enterprise decisions, and you’ll learn to use data analysis, data mining and predictive modeling tools.

Graduate Certificate (6 courses, 24 credit hours)
The advanced, 6-course certificate takes you into more depth exploring marketing-specific metrics and using programming to analyze data. It includes the four foundational courses plus two additional interdisciplinary courses:

- INFO 4120 Python Programming
Online Certificate in Strategic Marketing and Innovation
Specialized Graduate Certificate (4 courses, 16 credit hours)
This online certificate will give you a strong foundation in marketing with a focus on social impact. You’ll gain the knowledge and skills you need to excel in integrated marketing communications and brand management while fostering innovation and driving meaningful change. All of the courses are synchronous online classes that meet once a week.
You’ll take three required courses:
- MKTG 4580 Insights to Innovation
- MKTG 4810 Integrated Marketing Communication
- MKTG 4820 Brand Management
You’ll also choose one of two electives:
- MKTG 4380 Supply Chain Management
- MKTG 4675 Marketing for Social Impact
Tuition
$1,668 per credit hour
Tuition for Daniels College of Business graduate programs is based on a cost-per-credit-hour rate set by the University of Denver. Residents and non-residents of Colorado have the same tuition costs. The rate above is for the 2024-2025 academic year (fall through summer quarters).
Financial Aid
Federal financial aid is available for 24-credit graduate certificates. Contact a graduate advisor for more information.
Scholarships
Both 16-credit and 24-credit certificates are eligible for merit scholarships. Candidates will automatically be considered for scholarships when they are admitted to the certificate program. There is no separate application required.
16-credit vs. 24-credit certificates
Do I want a 16-credit or 24-credit certificate?
The 16-credit specialized certificate lets you quickly earn a credential with four tightly focused foundation courses that build your skills in a specific area. This certificate is not eligible for federal financial aid.
The 24-credit advanced certificate starts with the same foundation courses, then adds two more courses that either delve into the foundation topics in more depth or allow you to explore electives. It's designed for students looking to develop more extensive skills or planning to pursue a master's degree. The 24-credit certificate is eligible for federal financial aid.
