What You'll Learn

In this hands-on two-day workshop, participants will:

  • Clarify what transition truly means for their family and enterprise—not just structurally, but relationally
  • Identify their shared “North Star” to guide future decisions
  • Surface and address differing perspectives across generations in a constructive way
  • Strengthen trust and communication around sensitive transition topics
  • Begin creating a shared vision that honors both legacy and future possibility

Participants will leave with greater confidence that their family is pointing in the same direction—together.

Workshop Outcomes

After completing the Transition Compass workshop, participants will:

  • Feel clearer about where their family enterprise is headed
  • Share a common language for discussing transition
  • Have greater confidence in navigating next steps together
  • Be better prepared for future planning conversations with advisors

Because when alignment comes first, transition becomes an opportunity—not a risk.

Format & Experience

This workshop is highly interactive and designed to support real-time reflection and dialogue. Participants will engage in guided exercises, facilitated discussion, and practical frameworks they can continue using long after the session ends.

Families are encouraged to attend together whenever possible to maximize shared understanding and impact.

Who Should Attend

Family business owners, next-generation leaders, and family members who want to navigate current or future transitions with clarity, alignment, and strong relationships—while ensuring the business’s next chapter is even stronger than its past.

Family members are encouraged to attend together, but not required!

Workshop Leaders

Elizabeth Ledoux

Elizabeth Ledoux is the Founder of The Transition Strategists, an international boutique consultancy offering transition and succession planning strategies to family and private businesses as well as individuals. She’s also a thought leader and sought after speaker addressing the topics of business succession planning, navigating transitions for companies and leaders, strategic growth, and the business journey.

With a career spanning over 30 years, she has compassionately and effectively helped hundreds of business owners navigate the complex family dynamics that come with family business shifts. Her focus, both personally and professionally as a business succession consultant, is putting relationships first. She believes that whatever you want to achieve in life and in business is possible when the relationships that surround and support you are whole and intact. Her track record crushes the dismal stats of family business transition with 100% of the family businesses thriving. Ms. Ledoux’s many years of working with families has allowed her to make a positive impact not only for the families, but for all those who they serve.

Andrea Carpenter

As President of The Transition Strategists, Andrea Carpenter specializes in guiding multi-generational families through complex business succession planning. Her unique perspective as both a successor in her own family business and an advisor to transitioning families provides invaluable insights into the challenges faced by both generations.

Andrea excels at creating psychologically safe environments where families can navigate the delicate balance between preserving legacy and embracing innovation. As a certified XChange facilitator, she combines human-centered design principles with proven facilitation techniques to help clients transform business transitions into opportunities for deeper family connection.
