Hull McKinnon


Hull McKinnon joins the MBA@​Denver program as an affiliate professor with a career leading growth companies as both a venture capital investor and an internal executive operator at a host of companies.

Hull spent the bulk of his career, over 16 years, with an energy technology-focused venture fund (Altira Group), where he was an integral part of establishing the firm as one of the co-partners that built a team, an organization and a successful brand of investment funds causing $1B of invested capital.

Hull has held a dozen board memberships mostly in multinational, high growth technology companies spanning a multitude of industry sectors and types. In addition, Hull has served in executive roles (CEO/CFO/COO) for a handful of growth companies. He served as CEO of a manufacturer and supplier of wind turbines and renewable hybrid systems. He was a partner at a $2B wealth advisory and investment management firm and CFO/COO at a market research firm. Most recently, he has served as the CFO for a fast-growing SAAS company.

Hull earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a concentration in accounting and economics from The College of William and Mary and is a CPA.
