Why did you choose Daniels
I chose the MAcc program at Daniels for its comprehensive and rigorous curriculum, which facilitated my career change into accounting without the need to return to undergraduate studies. I was particularly drawn to Daniels’ strong emphasis on integrity, proven ability to equip students with real-world skills, and impressive history of successful job placements.
Previous Education
BA in political science from Colorado State University.
Pre-Grad School Experience
After graduating from CSU, I worked for eight years in my family’s business, specializing in surety bonds, starting as a contract analyst and eventually becoming the assistant controller. While contributing to the family business was rewarding, I realized that staying in this safe and familiar environment was the path of least resistance and offered limited potential for personal growth. This realization prompted me to step out of my comfort zone and ultimately enroll in the Master of Accountancy program at Daniels.
Post Grad School Goal
My goal after graduation is to use my accounting expertise to make a meaningful impact in an organization where I can contribute, be challenged and grow. The versatile nature of accounting is what excites me most, as it offers endless opportunities to find purpose in my career.
Hobbies
I am a jack of all hobbies, as I am always getting into something new. Lately, I have been playing a lot of chess to satisfy my competitive itch and I am looking forward to returning to the dojo to continue my Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training after graduation. In my downtime, I enjoy movies and fiction novels, especially horror and fantasy.
