Why did you choose Daniels:

I chose Daniels for its program reputation, esteemed faculty, the vast and engaged alumni network, and the value of the in-person cohort model. The cohort experience is an ideal way to expand exposure to different industries and  the varied sizes and scales of business, from startups to other multi-billion dollar enterprises, all while engaging in positive dialogue and working toward a shared purpose across the curriculum. Additionally, the program length and class schedule offer a balanced approach that complements my personal and professional commitments.

Previous Education:

Bachelor of science in business administration with a major in marketing and a minor in management information systems, Oklahoma State University

Bachelor of arts in geography, The University of Oklahoma

Pre-Grad School Experience:

I began my career in technology, working as deskside support, network administrator and later transitioning into a sales role, before moving into the energy industry. Over the past 15 years in the energy industry, I’ve taken on a variety of roles with increasing responsibility, gaining broad exposure to most departments and business functions across the midstream sector of the industry. Currently, I serve as the senior director, strategy and administrative services, serving as the chief of staff to the COO, and leading the corporate contracts, knowledge management, process improvement and operations finance teams that support the gathering and processing business unit at Marathon Petroleum Corporation. I also serve on the board of directors of a company-sponsored nonprofit committee.

In addition, I’ve contributed over 10 years to the Pipeline Open Data Standards (PODS) organization in various capacities, including co-chairing a technical committee, serving as vice president on the board of directors, and currently as a member of the technical committee on governance.

Post Grad School Goal:

Post graduation, my goal is to enhance the value I bring to Marathon Petroleum as a senior leader within my business unit while expanding that impact across the corporate value chain. I am passionate about driving continuous improvement and building high-performing teams. I plan to apply my newly acquired skills and strengthened business foundations to support Marathon’s success both in our core operations and throughout the energy transition.

Additionally, I plan to leverage these capabilities as a board member, driving the growth and success of the organizations I serve. I am also eager to support emerging businesses in their expansion as either a consultant or board member as part of a future venture.

Hobbies:

Adventures, games or teatime with my amazing daughter are my priority, followed by personal hobbies of golf, hiking, bicycling, anything else outdoors, travel, good food, drinks and company.
