Over the past 50 years, franchising has evolved into one of the most dynamic, transformative business strategies in the world. This course prepares each student with the language of franchising, the framework of the franchise business model and an overview of franchising from various perspectives including the franchisee, the franchisor, supply partners and the customer.

In this course, we’ll take a detailed look at the history of franchising and how it has evolved and transformed into its current form while exploring alternative business models to understand the value and purpose of franchising. We will review the legal framework that upholds franchising in the U.S., and its global implications. And we will examine key management components, including legal, technology, training and more, using engaging case studies to challenge students to apply their newfound knowledge in real-world scenarios.
