Stephen Farnsworth
Stephen Farnsworth, senior managing director, runs Walker & Dunlop’s New Orleans origination office and is responsible for new loan originations of multifamily and commercial properties nationwide. With respect to multifamily, Mr. Farnsworth focuses on conventional market rate, student, senior and affordable multifamily loan origination through Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, HUD, Bridge, Life Company, Banks, and CMBS executions. Mr. Farnsworth leverages many of these same CMBS, Life Company and balance sheet lenders when sourcing loans on all commercial real estate asset classes. In addition, Mr. Farnsworth has extensive experience in structured finance, preferred equity, value-add, and moderate rehabilitation executions and has originated over $5.0 billion in agency and capital market loans throughout the United States.
Mr. Farnsworth joined Walker & Dunlop in February 2009 in conjunction with the acquisition of certain assets of Column Guaranteed and started his mortgage banking career with Standard Mortgage Corporation in 2002, which was acquired by Column Guaranteed in 2003.
Mr. Farnsworth is a member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) and a sponsor chair of ULI Louisiana. Mr. Farnsworth received a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering at Clemson University and a Master’s in Real Estate and Construction Management at the University of Denver.
