Peter Derschang

Biography at a Glance

Peter Derschang is currently the CFO of Brakes Plus, Inc., an auto repair business with 67 stores in six states. Derschang oversees the areas of accounting and finance, tax, and information technology for Brakes Plus. Derschang has over 25 years of senior financial management experience. Prior to joining Brakes Plus, he was the CFO at The Cable Center. Prior to the Cable Center, Derschang was a Vice President of Finance at First Data Corporation where he managed various finance teams. He has been a CFO at a national non-profit in Denver and also worked in the defense industry and public accounting. Derschang is a graduate of the University of Denver, Daniels College of Business with both his Bachelors degree in Accounting (’82) and his MBA (’92). He is a Certified Public Accountant and is a member of both the AICPA and the Colorado Society of CPA’s. Derschang has taught various accounting courses at the Daniels College of Business since 2006 as an Adjunct Professor. In his free time Derschang is an avid cyclist, RC Airplane pilot, plays golf and enjoys watching his son play professional soccer.
