Why did you choose Daniels

I chose to go to DU because I grew up close to the area and it has been my dream school since I was very young. I faced many struggles in my academic journey but worked through them to achieve this dream. The huge deciding factors for me were the support, resources and community that I would get when attending a school, all of which I got at DU. Right away, the Daniels staff was very welcoming and made me feel supported throughout my whole journey. I am the first person in my family to go to grad school and have had many big decisions to make as well as questions to ask. The MS Marketing program at Daniels has given me everything I wanted and needed from a graduate program and has allowed me to grow so much.

Previous Education

BA in communication from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs

Pre-Grad School Experience

Right after receiving my bachelor’s degree from UCCS I went straight into my master’s program. While in my undergrad, I spent three years mentoring students from their first year to graduation, as well as starting a social media account for the Learning Communities. This is where I found my passion for marketing and higher education. I was a very involved student, and believe it is important to take new opportunities because you might find passion you did not know you had.

Post Grad School Goal

After graduating with my master’s and working for a few years in marketing, I want to return to school to get a PhD. After that, I want to become a professor at a university and help students who have stories like mine.

Hobbies

Outside of school I enjoy doing any kind of craft, makeup, playing golf and watching baseball. I am a huge Chicago Cubs fan and even named my old dog after a player.
