Biography at a Glance

Murat Kucukvar is an assistant professor of Business Ethics and Legal Studies at the Daniels College of Business, University of Denver. He is working on quantitative sustainability assessment, sustainable business/ESG, industrial sustainability and business analytics. Based on the Scopus Database, he is listed among the world’s highly cited researchers for his work on life cycle sustainability assessment, carbon footprint analysis, triple-bottom-line sustainability accounting and sustainable supply chains. He published in several interdisciplinary journals such as NATURE Communications, Operations Management Research, Journal of Industrial Ecology, Journal of Cleaner Production, Energy Strategy Reviews, Sustainable Development, and Sustainable Production and Consumption, which are listed among the high-impact journals in the field of energy, environment, sustainability, and management.

He managed over 3 $M value of projects related to e-mobility, energy, sustainability analytics, carbon footprint analysis, and reporting, obtained from the Qatar National Research Fund and business partners”. He is still serving as the founding partner of the Sustainable Systems Solutions Lab (S3Lab) startup and delivering professional sustainability analytics, reporting, and training services to business partners. He has co-authored over 150 academic papers and supervised over 30+ graduate students including masters and executive PhDs. Since 2020, he has been listed among the top 2% of scientists in the world in the fields of energy, environmental sciences and sustainability, according to the global ranking published by Stanford University, U.S.A. He is a recipient of the Emerald Literati Awards for Excellence for his research related to environmental management and sustainability.
