Biography at a Glance

Michael West is the CFO of Denver-based Cheyenne Capital, where he began working as a consultant in 2005. Previously, he founded a project and permanent placement firm for finance and accounting senior-level individuals. West spent 28 years with Arthur Andersen, his last 10 years as the director of human resources, administration and recruiting for the Denver office.

Professional Accomplishments

West is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Colorado Society of Certified Public Accountants (COCPA). He is a past board member of the Mental Health Association of Colorado, past board member, chairman of the board and treasurer of Historic Denver, past board member and chairman of the board of the COCPA’s Educational Foundation and past president of the University of Denver Alumni Association. Currently, he serves on the boards of the COCPA, the American Lung Association—Southwest (of which he is also regional board chair) and the Lower Downtown Neighborhood Association. He was appointed by the Denver mayor to the Lower Downtown Design Review Board and to the Denver Union Station Project Authority Board. West is the 2003 recipient of the University of Denver’s Randolph P. McDonough Award for Service to Alumni. He is an active fundraiser for the University and other organizations.
