Gretchen Gagel, PhD
Gretchen Gagel, PhD, is an affiliate professor specializing in leadership with the MBA@Denver program and a recognized expert in the construction industry. She began her consulting career in 1994 with FMI Corporation, a Raleigh, North Carolina-based management consulting and investment banking firm focused on the construction industry. During her 11-year career there, she was a member of the contractor-focused Quality and Productivity Improvement Group, initiated and provided leadership to the Owner Services Group, and managed the Market Research Group. Owner clients included Marriott, Hewlett-Packard, General Motors, Starbucks and Detroit Edison, and contractor clients included Barton Malow Company, DPR Construction and Kiewit.
Prior to joining FMI, Gagel worked for Ralston Purina and Coca-Cola Enterprises in operations management. She also served as president/CEO of The Women’s Foundation of Colorado.
Gagel received her BS in Mechanical Engineering from Southern Methodist University, her MBA from the University of Denver and her master’s in nonprofit management from Regis University. She is currently earning her PhD in Organizational Performance, Learning and Change.
