Peter White A Conversation With Teaching Assistant Peter White

Q: What’s one thing you are learning now, and why is it important?

A: Over the past couple years, I have gained a passion for blockchain technologies. I have started learning everything I can about blockchain and am currently building out my developer portfolio. By the time I graduate this year, I hope to have enough of a portfolio to jumpstart my career as a software engineer in the blockchain industry. To many, blockchain is this “mystical” thing that is not fully understood, however, I believe that it is going to continue to change the course of history, with anything and everything using it—including secure software, video games, art, money, the entire internet and more. I believe blockchain is one of the most impactful technologies to ever exist.

Q: As a TA, how do you help students at The Garage?

A: As the Internet of Things (IoT) TA, I get the opportunity to directly use skills I have learned over several years to help students design, prototype and develop their projects and ideas. This includes IoT devices, web applications, blockchain ideas and anything else they may need help with for their projects.

Q: Are you a night owl or an early bird, and what do you like to do?

A: Definitely a night owl. Late at night is usually when I have time to work on the projects I want t, whether that’s learning about blockchain, working on my startup or just enjoying the free time.

Q: What would your perfect Saturday look like?

A: No homework, work or any responsibilities!

Q: What is one of your favorite memories from the past year?

A: For a long time, I have been working really hard toward seeking a better life and growing my career opportunities. This past year I have finally started to see my hard work pay off. It is such a fulfilling and relieving feeling!

Q: If they made a movie about you, who do you think would play you?

A: Shia LaBeouf
