Chef, Publisher and Author Bryant Terry to anchor Public Good Gala March 3
Back for the first time since 2020, the Fritz Knoebel School of Hospitality Management at the University of Denver will host the Public Good Gala, Thursday, March 3. The gala, which is part of the school’s Cossack Family Foundation Guest Chef Series, is a culmination of the five-week training program Ready for American Hospitality (RAH), in which refugees are trained in food safety and U.S. work culture. The evening raises money and awareness of RAH to continue the training program.
This year, the gala will feature Chef, Publisher and Author Bryant Terry. Terry is a James Beard and NAACP Image Award-winning chef, educator, and author renowned for his activism to create a healthy, just and sustainable food system. He is editor-in-chief of 4 Color Books and he is co-principal and innovation director of Zenmi, a creative studio he founded.
Since 2015 he has been the Chef-in-Residence at the Museum of the African Diaspora in San Francisco where he creates public programming at the intersection of food, farming, health, activism, art, culture and the African Diaspora. Read more about Terry on his website.
The evening will include hors d’oeuvres followed by a four-course dinner with each course accompanied by a specially selected wine. The menu will be prepared and served by Fritz and RAH students under the guidance of Chef Terry. Moet-Hennessey will be the school’s wine partner for this year’s Public Good Gala. Proceeds from ticket sales will support the RAH program.
