After an unprecedented academic year, the Daniels College of Business is thrilled to welcome new faculty members this fall. They each bring a wealth of expertise and experience to the classroom and the College as a whole, enriching the lives of students and helping to prepare the next generation of business leaders.

Andy Cohen
Cohen joins Daniels as a visiting professor of practice in the Department of Management. His teaching and research are in the domains of organizational behavior, leadership and human resource management. He is also founding partner of August Third Leadership Partners, an executive coaching and consulting firm.
He comes to Daniels after 10 years of faculty and administrative roles at Georgetown, George Washington and American Universities. Prior to his academic career, he was a C-suite executive at Capital One and a partner at Oliver Wyman. He holds a PhD from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a BA from Brown University. In his leisure time, Andy is an avid skier, runner and cyclist.
Flambures joins Daniels as an assistant professor of the practice in the School of Accountancy. She received her Master of Accounting from the University of Southern California in 2000 and has a Master of Public Administration from the University of Colorado at Denver. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in finance from Creighton University in 1997.
Flambures is currently attending the Executive PhD program at Daniels. Prior to starting as an assistant professor of the practice, she was an adjunct professor at Daniels and Red Rocks Community College.
In addition to her educational qualifications, Flambures brings more than 20 years of executive-level business experience to the classroom. She began her career in Los Angeles working for the Capital Group Companies (American Funds). She then went back to school and upon completing her Master of Accounting, she worked for PriceWaterhouseCoopers and became a certified public accountant. After a stint in public accounting, she redirected her career to the nonprofit sector where she worked for MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) International and Healing Waters, and finally served as the chief financial officer for Rocky Mountain PBS.
Flambures lives in Golden with her husband, Brent, and their two boys, Grayson, 19, and Jack, 15. Their family owns and operates GFORCE Powersports in Lakewood where they sell and service various brands of motorcycles, ATVs, UTVs, snowmobiles, scooters and watercraft.
Jacobs joins Daniels as an assistant teaching professor in the Department of Finance after serving as an adjunct faculty member since 2018. He has over 30 years of business experience in both finance and accounting positions with Fortune 500 companies and Big Four public accounting firms. Michael’s most recent role was senior vice president and treasurer of First Data Corporation, a global company that facilitates electronic payments and commerce.
Jacobs has extensive teaching experience in both accounting and finance, having taught numerous classes in both areas for the University of Denver, University of California, Los Angeles and University of California, San Diego.
He has an MBA from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business and a Bachelor of Science in accounting and finance from Drexel University. Jacobs also is a certified public accountant and a chartered financial analyst charter holder and has a certified treasury professional certificate.
Stefani Langehennig
Stefani Langehennig joins the Department of Business Information and Analytics as an assistant professor of the practice. Stefani comes to Daniels after serving as a lead data scientist and managing consultant for the international consulting firm ICF in London. Her consulting, research, training and teaching experience in data science extends across the globe in various industries and applications.
In addition to consulting, she was a postdoctoral researcher in the department of politics at Birkbeck College, University of London, and a data science product developer for the ed-tech startup Decoded.
Stefani was previously a high school teacher and track/cross-country coach in Texas. She has published academic articles using quantitative methods on topics such as legislative policy capacity, the diffusion of environmental policy and the influence of political indicators on state-level lawmaker behavior.
Stefani holds a PhD and Master of Arts in political science and quantitative methodology from the University of Colorado and a Bachelor of Arts in government from the University of Texas at Austin.
When she’s not running, cycling or skiing, she enjoys spending time with her family, as well as cheering for all Texas Longhorns sports.
Kerry-Ann Lewis Pearcy
Kerry-Ann Lewis Pearcy joins Daniels as an assistant teaching professor in business information and analytics. She has a PhD in research methods and statistics from the University of Denver and a Master of Science in social policy from the University of the West Indies in Jamaica. She has over 17 years of experience as a program advisor and consultant for multiple international agencies including arms of the UN and the U.S. Agency for International Development.
Lewis Pearcy has been teaching statistics and analytics for more than five years. Before joining Daniels full-time, she was an adjunct faculty member in the Department of Business Information and Analytics, as well as at DU’s Morgridge College of Education and Graduate School of Social Work.
Outside of teaching, you can find Lewis Pearcy gaming, cooking, listening to her favorite singer Elvis Presley or watching the “Hobbit” and “Lord of the Rings” films. She lives in Aurora with her husband and children and has served as a foster parent for many years.
Novak was promoted to teaching associate professor in the Department of Management.
Novak earned her Master of Science in management from the University of Colorado Denver and has an undergraduate degree in business administration from the University of Colorado Boulder. She consults in the areas of leadership development, management training, team building and facilitation, and has been teaching management at the graduate and undergraduate level since 1991.
Novak has almost 19 years of elected public service, 11 as a member of the Northglenn City Council and an additional eight years as mayor. She was term-limited in 2010. During her time in public office, she served as president of the National League of Cities in 2009 and held numerous other leadership positions. She currently also serves as the institute director for the Colorado Municipal Clerks Institute.

- 2012 John V. Christensen Award for exemplifying the tradition of John V. Christensen in promoting and working for good, strong, representative local government and regionalism in solving mutual problems
- 9NEWS Leader of the Year for 2003
- Businesswoman of the Year, awarded by the MetroNorth Chamber of Commerce
- Excellence in Teaching Award from Regis University
- American Marshall Memorial Fellowship for travel in Summer 2002
Holly Roof will serve as a teaching assistant professor in the Department of Business Information and Analytics. She began teaching at Daniels part-time in 2015 and joined the BIA department full-time as a visiting assistant teaching professor in the fall of 2019. Prior to joining DU, Roof taught at Colorado Mountain College high in the mountains of Colorado. She is passionate about empowering students to make a positive difference with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
Holly has a PhD in research methods and statistics, an MBA from Daniels, and an MA in gifted and talented education from the University of Northern Colorado. She completed her undergraduate work at Albion College in Michigan, majoring in economics and art.
Her research interests include data and information visualization, outcomes in statistics education and sports analytics with an emphasis on judged sports. In 2017, she received the Distinguished Paper Award from the American Educational Research Association. As a consultant, her work includes detailed statistical analysis, reporting to non-statisticians and dashboard design.
In her free time, Holly hikes, skis, rides horses, makes things and plays the ukulele.
