Apply broadly, stay organized and keep your momentum. Finding the right internship often takes a few rounds, and that’s normal.
Financial Support for Unpaid Internships and Professional Development
The Andrew and Barbara Taylor Internship Scholarship provides financial support to Daniels undergraduate students participating in internships and experiential learning opportunities. Internships and hands-on learning provide students with the practical career experiences they need to be successful later in their professional lives.
Note: In special cases, budget permitting, non-business majors and business minors are invited to apply for funding for internships.
Eligibility Requirements
- Must be an undergraduate student
- Must have submitted the FAFSA and CSS Profile aid applications for the academic year.
- Please email dcb.finaid@du.edu if you are unable to complete this step.
- ONLY IF APPLYING FOR SUMMER QUARTER FUNDING, submit the Summer Financial Aid application on MyDU. CPT workshop through Canvas to explain eligibility and the application process.
Selection Criteria
- First preference shall be given to students who demonstrate financial need and are participating in:
- Internships for course credit
- Daniels experiential learning courses (for example SXSWi: Marketing, Technology and Innovation)
- Second preference shall be given to students who demonstrate financial need and are participating in external experiential learning courses (for example a Coursera certificate)
- Third preference shall be given to students whose Student Aid Index falls within 125% of the annual cost of attendance and who demonstrate significant financial challenges with unpaid internships and/or per diem costs.
- If budget permits, all other students will be considered for funding.

International Student Information
Curricular Practical Training (CPT) authorizes an F-1 student to engage in compensated training that is integral to or required for the academic program. International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) issues CPT authorizations which specify the employer, site of activity, and start and end dates authorized during the training. This information appears on the I-20. ISSS cannot authorize CPT for ongoing employment. ISSS offers an online CPT workshop through Canvas to explain eligibility and the application process.
