news-stephen-millerThe University of Denver’s Daniels College of Business today announced the appointment of Stephen Miller as the inaugural senior director of entrepreneurship for the College. In his new role, Miller will coordinate activities across DU and Daniels to build key partnerships and relationships in the entrepreneurial community, work with faculty and staff to enhance the overall entrepreneurial curriculum, design and launch new entrepreneurship activities, and expand co-curricular programming.

“Stephen Miller will help Daniels students develop the business acumen required to launch and grow their own successful ventures in the global business environment,” said Daniels Dean Christine Riordan. “Business enterprises – from large corporations to start-ups – utilize the transferable skills and tools provided by entrepreneurial education, and Stephen will play a critical role in elevating the College’s focus on entrepreneurship.”

Prior to his appointment at Daniels, Miller was the former president and CEO of CleanLaunch, Colorado’s Clean Tech Incubator and part of the Colorado Center for Renewable Energy and Economic Development at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory.  He was also Co-Founder of the Clean Tech Open – Rocky Mountain, one of the nation’s most innovative renewable energy business plan competition.  Prior to founding CleanLaunch, he was Executive Director of Denver Ventures at Stapleton (CTEK Stapleton), a business incubator for early stage technology companies which provided advisory services, connections to capital, and other critical support to entrepreneurs and their companies to ensure rapid growth and future success.

“While we have a rich legacy of innovation and entrepreneurship at Daniels, Stephen’s background and experience will help us anticipate what the business community needs,” said Charles Patti, senior associate dean for Daniels.  “He will work with the Daniels community to create new opportunities for the business community, our students, staff and faculty.”

Miller is an alumnus of the University of Denver and serves on the Boards of the Rocky Mountain Business Incubator Coalition, the Colorado Energy Coalition, the Stapleton Development Corporation, Bonfils Blood Center Foundation, netFactor Corp., and Sleep Easily, Inc.
