Micah Holmes

Micah Holmes has spent 20 years in Fire and EMS—16 as a paramedic, six as a company officer and four as a shift chief overseeing a six-station battalion for the City of Longmont. His career has been built equally on hands-on emergency response and the kind of day-to-day leadership that keeps a battalion running at its best.

Away from operations, Micah has helped shape how departments identify and develop their people—building hiring and promotional processes for Longmont and several surrounding agencies. That work gave him a sharp eye for leadership potential and a clear perspective on what actually makes a team function at its best.

For more than 10 years he has brought that perspective into the classroom, teaching crew resource management, team dynamics, and leadership principles at the FRFC Academy and in departments across the region. His core belief is simple: teams will fail in predictable ways, and leadership and structure are how to make teams more than the sum of their parts.
