Amy Blair (MBA 1998) is senior vice president and chief people officer for Liberty Global, one of the world’s leading converged video, broadband and communications companies, generating annual revenues of $11.8 billion, with 20,000 employees.
Blair is responsible for leading Liberty Global’s human resource function across Europe and the United States. In this capacity, she is responsible for developing and executing the organization’s global People Strategy, which encompasses an integrated approach to talent, organization, culture, engagement, performance management, reward, leadership and internal communications.
As a key member of the executive leadership team, Blair serves as the thought leader on people and organization issues, and plays a key role in the company’s global M&A activities.
Blair began her career in Denver, Colorado, as an intern during the start-up phase of the company and during her 30 year tenure has held numerous positions. From 1999 to 2006, Blair was based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, and served as vice president of operations management, followed by managing director of human resources for European operations, before returning to the global headquarters in Denver to serve in her current role. As the company has transformed in size and shape through significant M&A activity over three decades, Blair has developed unique expertise in transformation and change management. She has played an integral role in significant business restructurings and has worked closely with the CEO to assemble world-class leadership teams. Blair has been a champion of identifying and developing high-potential talent and is an active participant in Liberty Global’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Council.
Blair serves on the Board of Directors and the Remuneration Committee of Telenet, a publicly listed provider of media and telecommunications services in Belgium. She has been a board member of various industry and civic organizations throughout her career and is currently on the board of The Cable Center and the Daniels Executive Advisory Board at the University of Denver Daniels School of Business. She actively supports multiple nonprofits with a focus on education, as well as animal welfare. She is a mother of three young children. In 2013, Blair was awarded Woman of the Year by Women in Cable Telecommunications Rocky Mountain Chapter.
Blair holds a Bachelor of Arts & Sciences from Colorado College and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Denver.
