What has been your favorite DU moment?

A favorite memory of mine at DU is participating in the Walk Down Wall Street course. Not only was experiencing the finance industry in New York amazing, but getting to be on the New York Stock Exchange floor was truly unforgettable.

What is a piece of media you’d recommend to other students?

I recommend the podcast Wall Street Breakfast in the mornings. It is quick, informative, and a great way to start the day! A TV show I adore is Suits. I rewatch it every finals week, and it never fails to help me succeed.

What is your favorite way to get involved on campus?

I found a way to combine my love of sports at DU by doing an internship in the athletics department. It was a great experience where I got the opportunity to see how the media department was organized. I’ve also had a great time attending Finance club events when I have the time to!

What is your favorite place to relax?

My favorite place to relax and keep my mind and body fit is Fierce45. I took Fierce45 Pilates classes at the start of my DU educational journey, and am now an instructor. It’s relaxing, fun, and provides such a welcoming, inspiring environment. It’s a great home away from home.

What is your favorite campus event to attend?

I am a huge sports fan. I grew up going to the hockey, soccer, basketball and lacrosse games at DU, so these have to be my favorite events! Go Pios!

What is one piece of advice that you would tell your first-year self?

If I was to tell my younger self anything, it’s to avoid trying to make things easy, and instead make them worth it. A lot of people advised me to work smarter not harder in college. I stayed true to myself by working hard and smart, which helped me achieve my highest accomplishments in my college career. Don’t forget to stop and smell the roses too! Pace yourself with timing, but push yourself with effort.
