What has been your favorite DU moment?
I don’t think I can pick just one…so I’ll pick two! Being able to do client projects within different classes at Daniels really immerses you and provides you with that experience of real life business to give you an edge when going into internships. Also being a part of the Daniels Ambassador Team (DAT) provided me the space to interact with prospective students and relay my amazing experiences throughout my years at DU knowing the impact our experiences provide these incoming business students.
What is a piece of media you’d recommend to other students?
A good binge for me is Law and Order, I get so invested in this show and with 20+ seasons it’ll be there for a while to help wind down from a busy schedule.
What is your favorite way to get involved on campus?
I believe the best way to get involved is by participating in activities that align with your interests and values. Through my involvement in various organizations and clubs on campus, I’ve met some of my closest friends and being a part of these groups has not only allowed me to connect with others, but I’ve also learned a lot about myself and developed valuable skills along the way. Working on campus is another excellent way to engage, as most people you interact with are part of the same community, some may even become your peers and friends. For me in my involvement with DAT, I am also the Lead Peer Advisor this year, this role has enabled me to build strong relationships with my peers, supervisors, and mentors that I wouldn’t have made without getting involved.
What is your favorite campus event to attend?
I love attending speaker events, it’s a great way to learn the different walks of life of individuals from different industries, which can maybe even lead you to a certain path.
What is one piece of advice that you would tell your first-year self?
DON’T BE AFRAID TO PUT YOURSELF OUT THERE! It’s going to be nervewracking to be in a new place and figuring out how to make the most out of the four years you’re here, work hard of course, but please be involved on this campus, you make your best memories by immersing yourself.
