Learning from Successful 100 Year Family Enterprises

A study of 100 large global family enterprises that have been successful as both a connected family and a family business/financial enterprise for more than three generations, reveals some unexpected insights. These families did not succeed with a single business success, they continually evolved and created value in each generation. The research produced some startling insights. These families shifted their culture from a single family leader to a collaborative enterprise with several leaders. After their initial success they focused on creating a great family and developing their non-financial family wealth. They were engaged across generations, and developed a robust agenda for developing, involving and inspiring their rising generations.
