The Daniels College of Business is thrilled to welcome more than 700 new undergraduate and graduate students to our community this fall. Get to know our latest group of students.

Undergraduate Students

This fall, nearly 500 new undergraduate students will begin their time at Daniels, including both transfer students and first-time-in-college students. They come from almost every corner of the U.S.—45 states to be exact, plus Washington, D.C. Most are from here in Colorado, but other states where many undergraduates are coming from include California, Texas, Minnesota and Connecticut.

We also have 24 international students joining us representing 15 different countries.

Around 17% of our new undergraduates are first-generation college students and approximately 27% identify as students of color. For those who have declared a major, the most common are finance, business analytics, management and marketing—though we expect, and in many cases encourage, undergraduate students to change majors as they progress through their education and discover new passions.

Fun fact: This year’s incoming undergraduate class is one of DU’s largest ever. There are about 200 more first-time students starting this fall as compared to fall 2020 across the entire campus.

Graduate Students

We are pleased to welcome more than 230 new graduate students to Daniels for fall quarter. They come to us from 31 different U.S. states, plus our nation’s capital. Like their undergraduate counterparts, the majority of new graduate students are from Colorado, with additional high representation from California, New York, Texas, Georgia and Illinois.

Internationally, 30 new graduate students are coming to Daniels from 15 different countries.

Our graduate students come to Daniels with diverse academic backgrounds. Just under half of our new class have an undergraduate degree in business, commerce or economics, while the rest range from engineering and law to social sciences and arts and humanities.
