Holiday shopping is easy when you have a network of more than 40,000 alumni to tap! Many Daniels College of Business graduates are proud owners of companies that provide food, beverages and services fit for anyone on your list. Get started with our annual holiday gift guide.
1. Beyond Gouda
Who needs a fancy table at a cocktail party? Beyond Gouda is taking the art of charcuterie to picnics, lunchrooms and even the ski slopes. (Don’t worry, cocktail parties are also an option.) Nicole Vanderburg’s (BSBA 2019) company sells spreads of all sizes—including a tidy little package to tuck in your jacket for the chairlift. Or, learn to build it yourself through a custom workshop.
2. Leven Supply
There’s no shortage of food (and leftovers) during the holidays, so why not give a gift that’s built to last in the pantry? Build a gift basket of pasta sauces, salsas, olives and jams from Leven Supply. Anthony Lygizos (BSBA 2008) perfected his palate during stints in Aspen and New York City; in Denver he’s opened a deli, a restaurant and is preparing to open a third location downtown.
3. Bonfire Coffee Company
Whether it’s a perky pick-me-up or a cozy cup of joe, it’s hard to go wrong with coffee. Bonfire Coffee Company, founded by Charlie Chacos (MBA 2008), sells subscriptions that will deliver bags of its single-origin coffee every month. The online shop is full of kettles, drippers, scales, mills, filters and other coffee-brewing contraptions too.
4. Attimo Urban Winery
No one will confuse the Mile High City with “wine country,” but Jon Schlegel (BSBA 1997) has created the closest thing at Attimo Urban Winery. The company “cautiously” ships grapes in bulk, directly from Italy. Then, in Denver, Attimo stabilizes, ages, enhances and bottles a dozen different varietals. Buy a bottle, join the wine club or gift a date night in the new and improved tasting room and event space in LoDo.
5. Miraflora Wagyu Beef
Descended from Japanese cattle, raised in Colorado and destined for your dinner plate: The meat from Miraflora Wagyu Beef is a hearty holiday gift for your favorite carnivore. The company Brent Facchinello (MBA 2020) started serves up a wide selection of steaks, ground beef, sausages, ribs and even a summer sausage. Gift boxes are an easy option too, whether someone is a steak lover or “new to Wagyu.”
