The Reiman School of Finance at the Daniels College of Business honored two alumni Feb. 13 during its 2017 Distinguished Alumni dinner.

Randy Engel (MS Finance 2001), executive vice president of Strategic Development at Newmont Mining, and Reinhardt Olsen (BSBA 2986), managing director and global head of Prime Brokerage, and Americas head of Financing Services at UBS, were honored.

Engel was elected executive vice president of Strategic Development in September 2008 after serving as senior vice president of Strategy and Corporate Development since 2007. He has been with Newmont since 1994 and has served in various capacities in the areas of business planning, corporate treasury and human resources.

Olsen spent 14 years at Merrill Lynch prior to joining UBS in 2003. He held a number of senior positions across sales, trading and the capital markets desk in New York, London and Asia. Olsen was a managing director and member of the Global Fixed Income Management committee at Merrill Lynch.

In addition to hosting the Americas Financing Services Management Committee, Olsen is also a member of the Equities Americas Executive Committee, the Global Financing Services Board, the Global Distribution Executive Committee and the Global Financing Services Risk Committee.

Each year, the Reiman School of Finance honors two alumni for their outstanding achievements in the field of finance.

“We have been honoring two alumni per year since 2007,” said Reiman School of Finance Director Mac Clouse. “It is wonderful to add Reinhardt and Randy to our list of honorees that includes alumni like Tom Marsico of Marsico Capital Management, Carol Tome, the chief financial officer of Home Depot, and Ted Weisberg of Seaport Securities and the New York Stock Exchange.”
