What are your responsibilities and contributions as chairperson of the FUN Committee?
I joined FUN Committee in October 2023 as a general member and took over as the Chair in July 2024, appointed by the committee. My main responsibility as Chair is to plan the calendar for the year, manage our events from a top-down level and seek out ways to serve the community (both within DU and at large).
What motivates you in serving in this role and how do you find it fulfilling and important for your professional development?
I was so impressed with the caliber of our FUN Committee events when I first started working at Daniels which is what motivated me to join the committee in the first place! I think morale in the workplace is so, so important and what better way to promote it than by planning events that bring our community together? I’m motivated by our faculty and staff who enjoy and appreciate these events, but I’m also so motivated by my fellow Fun Committee members! I’m blown away by the incredible ideas they bring to each and every meeting and the creativity with which they execute them. What can I say, for lack of a better word, we have FUN together and it’s hard not to feel fulfilled by that! 😊
