What are your responsibilities and contributions as DU staff senator?
I have served on the University of Denver’s Staff Senate (formerly Staff Council) since 2022 and was elected to represent Area 8, which includes the Daniels College of Business, Centers & Institutes, College of Natural Sciences & Mathematics, Office of Internationalization, and the Registrar’s Office. In this role, I collaborate with University leadership, Faculty Senate and student governments to advocate for staff and enhance workplace equity. My term is up in June 2025, there are new elections about to be launched, please consider running! As a member of the Elections Committee, I help oversee the senator election process, ensuring fair representation and staff engagement in governance.
What motivates you in serving in this role and how do you find it fulfilling and important for your professional development?
I am motivated by the opportunity to amplify staff voices, foster an inclusive campus culture and contribute to meaningful institutional change. Serving on the Senate has also strengthened my leadership, collaboration and advocacy skills while deepening connections across the University.
