Bruce KlawThe Academy of Legal Studies in Business awarded Assistant Professor Bruce Klaw the 2016 Hoeber Memorial Award for Excellence In Research. The award recognizes the best article of the year published in the Journal of Legal Studies Education, which is one of the two flagship peer-reviewed publications of the Academy of Legal Studies in Business.

Klaw, an assistant professor in Daniels’ Business Ethics and Legal Studies Department, wrote “Deal-Making 2.0: A New Experiential Simulation in Contract Negotiation and Drafting for Business Students in the Global and Digital Age.” The article provides students with an opportunity to enhance negotiation and conflict resolution skills, gain transactional competence and comfort with essential aspects of contract law, hone problem-solving and writing skills and develop the ability to recognize and mitigate legal issues in international business.

Professor Klaw’s work has been published in several of the top journals in his field, including the Harvard Journal on Legislation, the Berkeley Journal of International Law and the Journal of Legal Studies Education

He holds a J.D. from Harvard Law School and a B.A. from Binghamton University (State University of New York) in Philosophy, Politics & Law. He has been a member of the Daniels’ faculty since 2013.
