*If you are late, please notify one of the door monitors so they can seat you after the processional concludes.
Graduates should complete the Daniels Career Services Exit Survey.
Reporting your post-graduate plans to Career Services is a key step to complete as you wrap up your time with the Daniels College of Business. Please login to PCO and on the homepage there is a box titled "Outcomes", with a "Report" button to click. All information you submit will remain highly confidential and only reported in aggregate. Schedule of Events
Graduate Line Up
Graduates will begin in the line up room at the time communicated (see above for current Hood Ceremony times), receiving instructions from program coordinators and staff volunteers. (Guests will find their seats in the auditorium during this time.)
Ceremony Begins
Processional of graduates enters the auditorium and will be directed to their seats.
- Welcome by the Dean of the Daniels College of Business, Naomi Boyd
- Ceremony Lead speaker
- Keynote speaker
- Beta Gamma Sigma recognition
- Presentation of the hoods*
- Awards presentations
- Student speaker
- Alumni speaker
- Closing remarks
- Recessional - Graduates will be led out of the auditorium back to the line up room
*Presentation of the Hood Details
- During the ceremony, graduates will be led to the stage, one row at a time.
- Graduates are then directed to the microphone. Please watch for your cue.
- Introduce yourself at the microphone. Speak clearly and provide only the following: Your name and hometown. (PhD candidates can also state their Dissertation title.)
- Next, walk to the program representative and turn to face the audience. A hood will be placed over your shoulders; after which your program representative, department chair, and the dean will shake your hand.
- You will then be directed back to your seat.
Following the Ceremony
- Reception – Immediately following the ceremony, light refreshments will be served in the lobby.
- Graduates will join family and friends in the lobby after they have recessed back to the line up room.
- A professional photographer will be set up to take pictures with your friends and family. A link to the photos and video recording will be shared within a few weeks.

ADA and guest accommodations
Guest seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. If guests need ADA or special accommodations during the ceremony or ADA compliant parking, graduates should indicate this in their RSVP or email DanielsAdvising@du.edu.
Dress Code: Formal Business Attire
- This is a special occasion where you’ll have an opportunity for family photos. We suggest formal business attire including a suit or jacket with dress slacks, a dress, skirt, or pantsuit.
- A cap and gown are not required to participate in the hood ceremony. PhD candidates are encouraged to wear regalia.
- A hood will be presented to you at the ceremony.
Photography
After the ceremony, a professional photographer will be set up to take pictures with your friends and family. A link to the photos and video recording will be shared in a few weeks.

PARKING INFORMATION
Parking garages for guests will be in Lot 321 (accessed off of Asbury, just west of University Blvd) and Lot 301 (on the corner of Evans and High streets). Each station contains instructions indicating methods of payment accepted at that station, including the ParkMobile app or the PayByPhone app.
- Hourly spaces cost $2/hour or $10 max for the day, paid at one of the pay stations. Payment must be made at the time of arrival, before attending the event.
- All pay stations accept credit cards. Most also accept cash, but exact change must be used, and no change is given back.
- Guests can also pay for parking in the visitor lots from their smartphones with the ParkMobile app. Learn more about the ParkMobile app.
- Access to hourly Lot 321 is by going west on Evans Avenue ONLY, between the fraternity house and the Ricks Center for Gifted Children. The entrance will take you under the Sturm College of Law.

Accessible parking
Parking for guests that need ADA or special accommodations is on a first-come, first-served basis. To reserve accessible parking, graduates are required to contact danielsadvising@du.edu no later than November 6. Any inquiries after this date will not be accepted.
Drop-off point
Guests who aren’t able to walk distances can be loaded and unloaded from designated parking spaces in lot 316, directly west of Sturm Hall.

- Oversized signs or banners (larger than 28” x 22”)
- Signage with a stick or pole attached
- Helium balloons
- Artificial noisemakers, air horns, whistles, etc.
- Glass bottles, containers, etc.
- Confetti, Frisbees, balls, projectiles
- Laser pointers or other disturbing items
- Derogatory/defamatory clothing or signage
- Illegal drugs or alcohol
- Firearms, weapons, explosives or other harmful items
- Hard-shell coolers, containers, thermoses, grills, tents
- Candles
- Animals (except licensed service animals)
- Other items deemed prohibited by event staff
