Why did you choose Daniels?

Growing up in ColoradoI have always known that the University of Denver is a great university. I wanted to stay close enough to my family while also getting the chance to explore a new city. The reputation of Daniels stood out to me and I knew from the start of my undergrad that Daniels was the place to be.

Pre-grad school experience

During my undergrad at DU, I was a legislative intern at the Colorado Legislature. I worked with a wonderful Latinx non-profit, CLLARO, where I learned about policy research, Latinx policy issues and more. Similarly, I also worked with another Latinx organization named COLOR that is centered around women’s rights. I am passionate about community organizing as well as access to healthcare.

Post-grad school goal

I am working towards a certificate in Healthcare Management in hopes of working for a company or hospital that is passionate about ethical healthcare practices. I see a huge gap in healthcare access for the Latinx population in Colorado and I would like to work towards lessening that access gap.

When I have enough time to go outside, I love running, playing tennis and discovering new mountain towns. I also love watching new movies and shows as well as playing video games. I am always down to try a new restaurant or bar and am constantly looking for recommendations!
