If you could tell your past-self one thing before you started grad school, what would it be?

Attend a bunch of on-campus events that Daniels offers. These are great opportunities even just to learn about various industries.

What advice do you have for prospective students?

Don’t worry so much about every single grade in grad school. Focus on getting the most out of the experience.

What is your favorite thing about living in Denver?

The seasons.

What were you looking for in a business school?

I want to go into the marketing research field, and Daniels offers both courses and experiential learning related to this field.

Why did you choose Daniels for your graduate degree?

Daniels has a good reputation, small campus and class sizes, and I liked its proximity to home.

Tell us about the Daniels classroom experience.

Because the majority of our work is done in teams, it’s a great learning experience in how to work with people who have different communication styles than you do. In the Marketing program, almost everything is done in groups. Most all of our classes have the same 30 or so students in our cohort, so everyone is familiar with each other and comfortable sharing their ideas in class.

How have you evolved as a leader during your time at Daniels?

I’ve become more outspoken both in the classroom and with group projects. I feel that I am willing to take more responsibility when it comes to group projects.

How has Daniels prepared you to be market-ready?

I learned a lot of practical skills from the Leadership and Professionalism class that I can utilize in the real world. Through a speed interviewing session, I learned how to present myself in a business setting. It was difficult, but I’ve noticed improvements in my presentation abilities. Daniels Career Services is also very involved in helping students make progress in their careers, and is always willing to help you whether your problems are broad or narrow.
