I was drawn to Daniels’ knowledgeable and approachable faculty and staff. Throughout the admissions process, they made themselves available at events and shared examples of real-world projects that were integrated into the curriculum. Knowing I could learn through authentic experiences from people that understood my career path and future goals was extremely attractive. I also appreciated the small class sizes, breadth of extracurriculars and concentrated time students got to prepare for the job search in the Career and Professional Development course.
Before coming to Daniels, I taught high school business classes in the Chicagoland area for 10 years. I also served as an advisor for our school’s Future Business Leaders of America and National Honor Society chapters. Though I loved working with students, with every year of curriculum revamping, I became more enthralled with marketing trends and innovation techniques. I knew Daniels would help me explore these passions and build the network I needed to transition into the industry.
I am currently completing a graduate assistantship in the Consumer Insights and Business Innovation Center (CiBiC). For this experience, I gathered research for a local consumer goods company and presented them with new market and product opportunities. After graduation, I would like to continue this work in a career in customer insights or brand management. I have a passion for design thinking and want to help businesses empathize with their target market, purposefully innovate products and solidify their brand.
In my spare time, I enjoy exploring my new home state of Colorado, watching sports, discovering my Airedale Terrier’s latest personality quirk and finding my flow in the yoga studio. My husband and I are also big gardeners and cooks and love putting together our own “backyard-to-table” meals.
