Why did you choose Daniels?

I chose Daniels due to the culture and environment that DU seemed to foster. It was very inclusive, highly research-oriented and my top pick out of the universities in the area. I liked DU so much that my husband ended up getting his MBA (concentrating on finance) here too!

Pre-grad school experience

I have been in the workforce full time since 2014. I have been a digital marketing manager at a web design and development firm, leading the Digital Marketing Department. I have also been a category operations manager at US Foods where I managed dairy, nonfoods and beverage for the entire Rocky Mountain Area (Wyoming down to El Paso, Texas). Most recently, I was briefly a brand manager before pivoting to focus on a small business I’m building called Modern Co. Marketing. Modern Co. focuses on helping female entrepreneurs and small business owners, as well as minority-owned businesses, boost their brands and build their businesses through digital marketing and brand management.

Post-grad school goal

Post-graduation I would like to work for a multi-national company in global marketing or brand management. I will continue to build Modern Co. Marketing and look for grants that’ll help expand my mission to more woman- and minority-owned businesses, trying to help bridge the gap between access, knowledge and know-how.

Hobbies

In my past life I was an Olympic lifter, marathon runner and MMA fighter. Today, you can find me hiking the Rocky Mountains with my two dogs (Bear, a chocolate lab, and Kovu, a blue-eyed Siberian husky) and husband. I also enjoy playing the piano and violin and singing with my husband who also plays the piano and guitar and sings! Family is very important to both of us. We try to jet off somewhere international as often as possible.
