If you could tell your past-self one thing before you started grad school, what would it be?

DO IT! Grad school is the best hands on experience that will allow you to grow in ways that you didn’t even know you wanted to. Grad school has opened countless doors of opportunity for my future.

What advice do you have for prospective students?

Grad school is no easy task – you have to be willing to put in the work and take advantage of the opportunities that are presented to you. You get out of the program what you put into it.

What is your favorite thing about living in Denver?

You have an enormous amount of activities to choose from: the mountains, the city and even little hidden gems in each neighborhood that are worth exploring. I enjoy the weeklong farmer’s markets on Pearl Street. I also enjoying going tubing in the mountains or taking a weekend getaway to any ski resort or mountain town. I like hanging out by Union Station because they have many delicious and innovative local restaurants down there.

Why did you want to pursue a graduate business degree?

I was looking for a hands-on experience and mentorship that would best prepare me for my future career.

Why did you choose Daniels for your graduate degree?

Daniels has an exceptional reputation, and as an undergrad I always admired how accomplished Daniels’ students were once they entered into their careers after graduation.

Tell us about the Daniels classroom experience.

Daniels feels professional as soon as you walk through the doors. Each classroom is set up as if you were in a professional working environment, and when collaborating with classmates on group projects often feels like you are in a personal conference room. Each room is digitally equipped as well, which makes collaboration that much easier.

Is there a particular class or professor at Daniels that really stands out?

Gia Nardini and her class on Consumer Behavior was hands-down, the best experience in a Daniels class so far. Her teaching technique truly enables the students to understand the consumer’s purchasing habits and mindset. There was also an amazing group assignment with a non-profit client where we created a marketing campaign to target a specific market segment. My group worked with the Denver Zoo, and it was an incredible learning experience.

Ana Babic Rosario teaches Marketing Research and creates a unique experience in her class that allows students to work with an actual client and perform marketing research in order to provide a solution for a real world company. Students then are given the opportunity to present their findings to the client as well. I gained a new interest for analytics from this class and feel I am a more well-rounded marketer as a result from taking this course.

How have you evolved as a leader during your time at Daniels?

I feel that I have gained exceptional knowledge from my professors as well as guest speakers that has allowed me to feel more confident about my skillset.
