The 2019 Rocky Mountain Symposium on Analytics in Sports (RMSAS) is a meeting focused on the application of quantitative methods to problems related to sports data. The meeting will bring together academic researchers, people working for sports teams, sports media, and anyone else interested in the application of quantitative methods to sport. The symposium will closely follow the format created by the prior New England Symposium on Statistics in Sports and the Cascadia Symposium on Statistics in Sports in that we will have invited talks, poster sessions, and a panel discussion.

Local Information

RMSAS is being hosted by the University of Denver’s Daniels College of Business on August 2, 2019. The university is approximately five miles south of the Colorado Convention Center, the site of the 2019 Joint Statistical Meetings (July 27 – August 1) and is easily accessible using one of the RTD’s southeast lines.

The city of Denver and Colorado, in general, are known for their accessibility to the great outdoors. Within a two-hour drive, you can visit Rocky Mountain National Park, Red Rocks, Garden of the Gods, the US Air Force Academy, Summit County, among a host of other attractions. Alternatively, the city of Denver itself has plenty of museums, restaurants, breweries, distilleries, and parks to keep you busy if you choose to stay local.
