CannaBusiness Summit hosted at the University of Denver Sept. 28

The Daniels College of Business will bring together Cannabis industry leaders, regulatory officials, legal experts and academics to engage in Colorado’s first CannaBusiness Ideation Summit Thursday, Sept. 28 at the Joy Burns Center at the University of Denver.

The summit is designed to convene Colorado’s Cannabis business and civic leaders to synthesize current business challenges, political realities, visionary goals and emerging innovations within the industry—in order to help shape Colorado’s cannabis landscape of tomorrow.

Featured Summit experts include Ashley Kilroy, executive director of the Office of Marijuana Policy for the City and County of Denver; Kristi Kelly, executive director of the Marijuana Industry Group; and Paul Seaborn, assistant professor of management for the Daniels College of Business.

“As the Colorado cannabis industry expands and matures, it faces a range of new challenges and opportunities,” says Paul Seaborn, assistant professor of management at DU’s Daniels College of Business. “Gathering cannabis business professionals and thought leaders from other sectors provides a unique opportunity for critical industry insights to emerge.”

The Daniels College of Business is becoming increasingly engaged in Colorado’s cannabis industry. The College launched a “Business of Marijuana” in the spring of 2017.

“The Colorado cannabis industry is already notable for the close cooperation that’s developed between business, government and societal stakeholders,” Seaborn says. “I think Daniels College of Business is ideally positioned to further strengthen these ties while also establishing itself as a source of expertise and insight that can be valuable to both industry participants and our students for many years to come.”
