Six new industry leaders will join the six current Executives in Residence at the University of Denver’s Daniels College of Business. The Daniels Executive in Residence Program exists to encourage meaningful engagement in the life of the College by senior executives whose perspective can shape and add value to students, faculty, staff, College leadership and departments within Daniels.
“The Daniels Executive in Residence Program offers a strategic opportunity for senior executives to be involved in the life of the College,” says Pat Perrella, executive director of Career Services at Daniels. “It also offers Daniels students, faculty and departments the opportunity to obtain an unparalleled corporate perspective on career planning, class content and curricular conversations.”

The six new Executives in Residence are:
Pat Montgomery, School of Accountancy
Montgomery, former executive director at Morgan Stanley, is a technology, business change and risk management leader with more than 30 years of experience in the Financial Services, Consulting and Entertainment businesses. She worked for Morgan Stanley, UBS, McKinsey and Columbia Pictures. Montgomery currently works for the Vail Centre providing leadership support for destination learning and entrepreneurship programs in the Vail Valley.
Todd Heskett, Daniels Career Services
Heskett, managing partner of Watermarq Consulting, founded the talent development company in 2001. He spent 15 years expanding the practice into New Zealand and the United Kingdom to better serve clients in over 40 countries. Todd’s focus is change management: helping organizations and individuals innovate through leadership, diversity and team performance. He has written a book, Keep Your PIE Fresh, on helping midlevel managers understand the key drivers to creating greater success at work.
Thad Dupper, The Denver MBA
Dupper, former CEO and chairman of Evolving Systems, holds extensive experience working in the technology sector with companies ranging from startup to publicly traded companies. He has provided expertise on product strategy, operations, sales and marketing, business development, and mergers and acquisitions in the wireless, optical and big data industries. He’s worked with Teradata Corp, Dun & Bradstreet, Terabeam Corporation and Expand Beyond.
Leigh Hitz, Fritz Knoebel School of Hospitality Management
Hitz recently retired as chief executive officer for Stout Street Hospitality, has decades of experience in hotel management including branding, strategy, business development and quality control. She led Stout Street Hospitality through the successful acquisition of the Mayfair Hotel, and rebranded the hotel in early summer 2014 as Magnolia Hotel St. Louis.
John Knott, Franklin L. Burns School of Real Estate and Construction Management
Knott, founder and CEO of CityCraft® Ventures, LLC, is a third generation builder/developer, with more than 45 years of experience in urban regeneration. He is the creator of the CityCraft process, which restores the economic, environmental and social health of cities. His award-winning projects include the Baltimore Inner Harbor and the University of Texas Health Science Center in the Houston Medical Center, among many more.
Steven Laposa, Frankin L. Burns School of Real Estate and Construction Management
Laposa, a senior adviser with Alvarez & Marsal, has more than 30 years of commercial real estate, construction management, geospatial analysis, economic consulting and academic experience.Prior to joining Alvarez & Marsal, Laposa spent five years as the Endowed Chair in Real Estate at Colorado State University, 14 years with PricewaterhouseCoopers as a Director in the Global Strategic Real Estate Research group, and research positions with LaSalle Investment Advisory and Alex Brown Kleinwort Benson Realty Advisors.

Collon Kennedy, Department of Business Ethics and Legal Studies
Kennedy, director of Peabody Natural Gas, LLC, has served as a senior executive and attorney with major energy and mining companies operating in North America and Chile for three decades. His most recent experience includes serving as outside legal counsel to Ruby Canyon Engineering Inc., a Colorado environmental engineering firm, where he analyzed environmental, legal, operational challenges and incentives associated with the capture, sale and destruction of coalmine methane (CMM), a source of greenhouse gas emissions.
Evon Holladay, Department of Business Information and Analytics
Holladay, former vice president enterprise intelligence for Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI), led CHI’s Population Health Analytics and Data strategy. This included formation of an industry leading information management governance structure for CHI’s analytics portfolio, enterprise data warehouse, data governance and enterprise information architecture. She is a seasoned professional in architecting enterprise intelligence solutions and running analytics operations.
Joe Colosimo, Department of Management
Colosimo, president and founder of Colosimo and Associates, serves organizations large and small with his consulting career. He is particularly knowledgeable with human resources, organization design and development and communications. He holds executive experiences with large corporations including Westinghouse, UtiliCorp United, Ford and Loral. His consulting practice includes work with Fortune 300 companies to nonprofits.
Diana Fredericks, Department of Management
Fredericks, director of business development and sales at Air Methods, is an experienced executive in strategic planning and business development with 30 years of leading, coaching and mentoring professionals worldwide. She has the ability to collaborate within multilevel organizations, develop solutions in complex environments and pioneer all aspects of growth for immediate results.
Marcianne Jenkins, Department of Management
Jenkins, senior manager at Accenture, has over 20 years’ experience in the Consulting industry. She is the program lead for a capability focused on cross-portfolio employee experience, leveraging Design Thinking to shape great web and mobile experiences for Accenture’s employees. Jenkins’ previous roles at Accenture have included program manager of large global process improvement and systems delivery projects, operations lead for global IT capabilities, and strategy consultant shaping new business capabilities for Accenture and its clients.
George L. Thorn, Franklin L. Burns School of Real Estate and Construction Management
Thorn, president and founder of Mile High Development LLC, is a veteran of large scale mixed use projects such as the Colorado Center and office project developments such as the Wellington E. Webb Municipal Office Building in downtown Denver. Thorn co-chaired the Finance Committee for the Guide the Ride Campaign and led the Downtown Denver Partnership fundraising efforts for both the successful Southeast Corridor/TREX Campaign and the FasTracks Campaign, and has been active in transit issues and related legislation for the past 25 years.
