The Department of Business Ethics & Legal Studies at the University of Denver’s Daniels College of Business will host a panel discussion Tuesday, Oct. 23 about the new appointment to the Supreme Court of the United States. The panel will be from 6-8 p.m. in Reiman Theater at Margery Reed Hall on the University of Denver campus.

Ten faculty members will analyze cases of recent terms of the Supreme Court and Justice Kennedy’s positions and opinions in those cases. They will also discuss any possible changes in the alignment based on the appointment of Justice Brett Kavanaugh.

The panel will discuss major judicial decisions on such issues as campaign finance and corruption, freedom of speech, abortion, religious freedom, gay rights, affirmative action, human rights and corporate liability and privacy. Business and economic cases involving arbitration and class actions, internet taxation, government takings and property rights, environmental regulation and climate change and travel bans and national security will also be addressed.

Each faculty member will give a brief five-minute presentation on a certain topic, then the panel will take questions from the audience.
