Congratulations Spring 2020 Graduates!

While we can’t host an in-person ceremony due to COVID-19, we still want to recognize your amazing accomplishments in your time at Daniels.

Daniels Keynote Speaker Ted Souder, BSBA 1993

Ted SouderTed Souder joined Google almost 19 years ago and is currently the head of industry, retail. In this role, he oversees a team that helps some of the largest retailers in the world make the transition from traditional to digital using various Google tools and platforms.

Before his role in retail at Google, Ted lived in Paris, France, where he oversaw key efforts in southern and Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Africa as the head of international strategic sales and operations.

Earlier in his career at Google, Ted held a number of different leadership roles in sales and account management and was responsible for helping open and run Google’s offices in Chicago, Dallas and Detroit.

Ted is an early digital adopter, having worked in the mid and late 90s at early online brands America Online and Excite, as well as groundbreaking social music start up Echo Networks.

Currently Ted is also vice chair of the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce, programs committee chair and executive committee member of the Board of Directors at the Economic Club of Chicago, and secretary of the board of 1871, the #1 technology incubator in the world.

Ted is a Daniels graduate (BSBA 1993) and lives in Chicago with his wife and two children.

If you’d like regalia as a keepsake or to take pictures at home, you can order it from the online bookstore or by calling the bookstore at 303.871.3251.

After purchase, regalia will be available for curbside pickup. You can place your order for regalia until June 19, 2020.

*Before purchasing your hood, please check with your department to make sure they didn’t purchase one on your behalf.

University-wide celebration

The University of Denver honored all its Spring 2020 graduates with a Day of Recognition on June 12. Chancellor Jeremy Haefner and the University deans officially conferred degrees upon graduates in a video ceremony, and graduates in the Denver area were able to schedule  in-person Commencement photo opportunities with the chancellor and Interim Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor Corinne Lengsfeld. Also, the University will hold an in-person Commencement ceremony for 2020 graduates in the spring of 2021.

Congratulations on completing your degree and welcome to the Daniels alumni network–40,000 strong across the globe! While I was disappointed we couldn’t meet in person at graduation, it’s now more important than ever to stay connected.
