Executive Education has partnered with police, fire, and rescue professionals for close to 10 years on a leadership program, backed by the University of Denver. Now, this program will be offered in the farthest reaches of Colorado. This spring and summer, the public safety leadership program will be offered in La Junta, Pitkin Co, and Durango. Cost:
Grant-funded by Colorado POST to POST-certified peace officers; no cost for participants or participants’ agencies. Without POST certification or POST ID, the cost of attendance is $1,700 for registrants. Accommodations and food are provided for by the grant; travel is not.
Enrollment Management:
Organizations cannot send more than four (4) POST grant-funded participants. Out-of-region registrants will be placed on a waitlist until thirty (30) days before the program’s start date. Priority among waitlisted registrants is determined by the registration form’s submission date.

Kerry Plemmons
Kerry Plemmons has more than 30 years of entrepreneurial experience with success in launching and running small and medium-sized businesses in the U.S. and Mexico. Since joining Daniels full time in 2004, Plemmons has consulted to senior executives at MillerCoors, Environmental Chemical Corporation (ECC), Microsoft, DMB Development Company, Janus Capital Group, Monte Vista Cooperative, Anadarko Oil, DCP, Intrado, First Data Corporation, Western Union and more.

Brandon Daruna
Brandon Daruna is the Chief of the Gilpin Ambulance Authority and a 19-year EMS veteran. Brandon currently serves on the Foothills RETAC Board of Directors, the Gilpin County LEPC and Emergency Services Council, the Mile High/Foothills HCC steering committee, the North Central Region UASI Board of Directors, and the Rocky Mountain Combined SWAT Team.

Steve Foster
Steve Foster is a serial connector with executive leadership roles in the Colorado technology ecosystem, board member of the Colorado Technology Association, and co-founder of Convercent, a global SaaS ethics & compliance software company, which supports over 6.7 million employees in 137 countries. Steve is an expert in company vision, strategy and execution, funding, business development, operations and organizational growth.
Led by experienced business school faculty and public safety leaders, this program provides:
- Access to some of the world’s best resources in graduate level business education and leadership development
- Increased visibility into areas of personal strength and insight into potential areas for growth
- Tools to develop and maintain stronger peer relationships and information to help with current challenges
- Education to improve team organizational performance
- Exposure to best practices in a variety of subject matter areas to assist in dealing with business and operational situations
Cost & Grant Information
Free for certified sworn peace officers, with the use of a grant.*
*Grantee agrees to limit enrollment for training, including the host agency, to four (4) seats, or 20% of the class size (whichever is greater) for each agency within the Region, until two (2) weeks prior to the start of training.
$1,700 for others, some scholarships available. The program fee includes all program materials, lodging and meals offsite. Transportation is at your own expense.
Refund Policy
If you need to cancel your registration, you may transfer your enrollment to a future session, send someone to take your place, or cancel without penalty at any time up to three days (72 hours) prior to your class. If you provide us with less than three days’ notice, or fail to attend, you will be liable for the entire workshop fee. Please contact Executive Education for more information.
