Building a Data Driven Organization
This course focuses on the fundamentals of data analysis and its application to business. Big Data is powerful and plentiful and has the potential to dramatically change how you do business. By focusing on the Four V’s of data analytics- Volume, Velocity, Variety and Veracity-you will be able to grow your business and create more Value for your organization.
In this workshop, you will learn how to understand, analyze and integrate Big Data to better understand your customers, product mix and supply chain. You will learn how to turn your data into a competitive advantage.

With the right toolset and understanding, you can embrace this dramatic business culture shift. In this three-day workshop you will:
- Become proactive in understanding and leveraging business data, and data-driven decision making, to gain a competitive edge
- Understand the business data landscape
- Learn data management and data mining methodologies
- Understand modeling tools and best practices: statistical inference, regression and optimization (familiarity with Excel is recommended)
Dr. Philip Beaver has been at Daniels since 2010, where he is the Director of the MS in Business Analytics. He served on the Army and Joint staffs at the Pentagon as a Senior Analyst, was an associate professor of applied mathematics at the U.S. Military Academy and served in the Army from 1983 to 2008. He is the Chief Data Officer of DocBuddy, Inc., the Data Science Advisor for LDGR Capital LLC, the Chief Data Scientist of OGx Consulting, and is with 6 other companies. He is formerly the Chief Analytic Officer of Cypress Partners, LLC, the former Chief Data Scientist of R.Index, and the former Chief Analytic Officer of Claremont Information Systems, LLC.

Should I take this for Credit or Non-Credit?
This option is for participants who are not interested in receiving graduate level credit and are participating for professional development and to update their skills, knowledge and abilities. Upon request, Executive Education is pleased to provide a Certificate of Completion for professional development credit for any Executive Education workshop completed. Please click on the link, download the form, and follow the instructions therein.
Credit – Graduate-Level Academic Credit
This option is for those interested in receiving graduate credits for their participation. In order to apply, you need to have completed your undergraduate degree and provide us with an unofficial transcript of that degree. These credits and your course grade will be on your official transcript. Please be aware that there is a mandatory assignment and once the workshop begins you are no longer able to switch your status from for-credit to non-credit.

If you provide us with less than three business days’ notice, or fail to attend, you will be responsible for the entire workshop fee.
