Sean Conboy

Biography at a Glance

Sean Conboy is an accomplished sustainability executive with over fifteen years expertise leading and managing change in energy and supply chain management.  Mr. Conboy is currently the founder and principal consultant at First Tracks Advisors.

Prior to First Tracks Advisors, he was the Energy Manager for Vail Resorts, a position that allowed him to combine a love of the outdoors and passion for sustainability.  There, he was responsible for creating and implementing the company’s enterprise program for energy management, which achieved a 16% reduction in energy usage.

Previously, Mr. Conboy was the Energy Engineer-Golden Brewery at MillerCoors, where he was responsible for energy management at the world’s largest single-site brewery. In that role, he led a team to develop a long-term energy strategy for the Golden Valley, identified and implemented new energy conservation initiatives, resulting in a 42% decrease in CO2e emissions.

Mr. Conboy is also a managing partner of Cohort Capital, a venture capital fund founded by a group of DU MBA alumni to help fill the funding gap between seed and Series A in the Denver start-up ecosystem.

Sean has extensive experience in corporate sustainability, energy management, operations, and strategic sourcing, and has received professional certifications as a Certified Energy Manager (CEM) and a Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP).  He is also an alumnus of the NREL Energy Executive Leadership Program. Mr. Conboy earned a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Dayton and an MBA in Organizational & Environmental Sustainability from the University of Denver.
