Joe Larkin, CCIM, MCR, SIOR, a commercial real estate specialist and has been active in the commercial real estate industry since 1977. His experience includes both investment and corporate (occupier) real estate providing real estate counseling, transactional services and investment valuation services.

 

He built a national brokerage and counseling firm in Albany, NY. His brokerage company, Larkin Commercial Properties, Inc., was on the top of the list of “Top-25 Commercial Real Estate Broker Firms” in the Albany, NY market. The Larkin team was awarded the “Business of the Year Award” from the Chamber of Commerce and earned many industry accolades.

 

Joe’s Colorado firm, First Realty, Inc. provides transactional and strategic counseling for businesses, investors and private equity syndications. His real estate education and years of experience, depth and breadth, covers many aspects of commercial and investment real estate. Industry. Industry Involvement:

Over his career, he was very involved in the commercial real estate industry and has served many real estate organizations. Since 1991, his involvement in the CCIM Institute is wide and deep serving on the Board of Directors for over 15-years. Joe received the highest distinction from CCIM, the CCIM Instructor of The Year Award, on three separate occasions.

 

Publications & Lecturer:

Over his career, Joe has published numerous articles in local and national commercial real estate publications. Topics include: real estate finance & investment; GAAP accounting and the impact to real estate; Federal Income Taxation, lease negotiations and market feasibility studies.

 

In addition, he has contributed to the development of the CCIM Advance Corporate Real Estate Analysis course and the CCIM Negotiation Workshop. He also contributed to the developed of the international CCIM User Decision Analysis course.

 

As a guest lecturer, both domestically and internationally, on current real estate topics he provides insights on variety of real estate topics.  As an adjunct and professional trainer, Joe has trained thousands of real estate professionals around the world.

 

He is a resource for the media and has been quoted in many articles. Providing relevant information on such topics as: change in federal taxes and its impact on real estate, GAAP accounting changes, negotiations and the implications of the global real estate on a national and local level.

 

When working with the media, he can address issues from both an investment and corporate real estate (occupier) perspective. Joe has published several articles on commercial real estate topics both in local and national media. He is also quoted in many national real estate publications.
