Graduate students from the University of Denver’s Daniels College of Business will compete in the 11th Annual Cable Apprentice Competition Friday, March 3. The students are charged with pitching new TV product ideas for millennial customers.

The event gives the DU students real-life, cable business-case studies for intensive research and analysis. The teams will present their recommendations live in front of an all-star panel of cable executive judges and industry studio audience March 3 from 9-11 a.m. at the Cable Center. This year’s competition will explore the topic “Cutting Through the Clutter: TV for the Next Generation.”

The winning team will split the grand prize of $4,500 and each member now has a preferred opportunity for a local paid cable industry internship. Previous hiring companies included Charter Communications, Comcast, Sand Cherry Associates and Starz. Since its inception, 15 “Cable Apprentice” competitors have secured permanent jobs at area cable industry companies following successful internships.
