In Colorado, 9News is a household name. Aside from the broadcasting company’s presence on KUSA Channel 9, KTVD Channel 20 and online at 9news.com, 9News is known along the Front Range for its community initiatives, including the 9Health Fair, 9Cares Colorado Shares, 9Who Care and 9Teachers Who Care.
So when the opportunity to sponsor the second annual Daniels Digital Marketing Summit in 2013 arose, 9News, a Gannett company, did not hesitate. The Digital Marketing Summit—presented by the Department of Marketing at Daniels—is a one-day seminar open to business professionals that features leaders in digital marketing and branding. In addition to numerous expert speakers, the program features an afternoon case competition, wherein participants can apply what they learn to solve a digital marketing case for one of 30 businesses and nonprofits. Participating businesses at the 2013 Summit all received a digital audit developed by 9News.
As the presenting sponsor in 2013, 9News offered its digital marketing expertise. Emma Chanin, digital sales manager, spoke about measuring a company’s digital marketing success and return on investment.
On October 17, 2014, Daniels will host the third annual Digital Marketing Summit, this time with two tracks: fundamentals and advanced. Once again, 9News is the presenting sponsor and Joseph Lazzaro, Director of Digital at Gannett, joins us as the keynote speaker and will tie the morning sessions together with a discussion on the impact of digital marketing on business. “9News/Gannett is an invaluable partner to Daniels for the Digital Marketing Summit,” says Michael Myers, lecturer, who leads the development of the Summit.
“Through this event, 9News/Gannett and the faculty members at Daniels who present give back to the community by helping local organizations grow their businesses through effective digital marketing,” says Myers. “We greatly appreciate their efforts in promoting and contributing to this event. Together, 9News/Gannett and Daniels are committed to the betterment of local industry.”
In addition to its financial support of the Digital Marketing Summit, 9News provided in-kind support online and on Colorado and Company on air. In addition to the Digital Marketing Summit, longtime 9News anchor/reporter Gregg Moss has moderated two Daniels Voices of Experience events: Walter Bettinger, CEO of Charles Schwab (April 2014), and Joe Ellis, president of the Denver Broncos (October 2013).
